Notice for ETB Employees re changes to view of Sick Leave Balances.
As you may be aware, a HR/Payroll Working Group comprising of representatives from ESBS, ETBI and all sixteen ETBs was established in 2024. This group reviews and formally ratifies HR processes and ad hoc areas of system functionality.
The Working Group have agreed to implement the below visual changes only on the PeopleXD system: Employee Dashboard>Balances tab with effect from 28th April 2025.
Existing training documents will be validated against the agreed changes and previous iterations removed from the Training site on Sharepoint prior to this implementation date.
The following visual changes only with be applied to the People XD system with effect from 28-Apr-2025:
- “Combined Sick”balance re-named to “Max Sick Leave Payable”
- Sick 92 Dys @ Full Pay & Sick 91 dys @ Half Pay balances will no longer be visible on the Employee Dashboard
Max Sick Leave Payable (previously called Combined Sick) will remain visible to Employees.
Self Certified Sick (2 yrs rolling) will remain visible to Employees. Please note that Self Certified Sick Leave absences do affect your overall Max Sick Leave Payable balance.
ETB HR Staff will still be able to view the full & half pay sick balances.
- Renaming of the column header in EE Dashboard>My Balances screen.
The below column header name is changing from “Entitlement” to “Max Entitlement”
Illness of a Family Member – Background.
There is currently no balance set up for this absence.
The Leave Policy Unit in the Department of Education confirmed that the maximum period of leave between Force Majeure leave and Illness of a Family member leave cannot exceed 5 days in a school year. The general limit on Force Majeure leave is 3 days per year. The Force Majeure balance should be reviewed before determining the entitlement to Illness of a Family member leave.
- We will be setting up a new Combined balance “Force Majeure/Illness of a Family Member” with an entitlement of 5 days per year – both types of absence will be affecting codes of this balance.
No change will be applied to the existing Force Majeure balances – only Force Majeure absences will remain as the affecting code for the Force Majeure (1 yr rolling) and Force Majeure (3 years rolling) balances.
Kind Regards
