Ticket 67265
Info written by Gail: this is in relation to an allowance but I think the same applies to salary amendments
Temporary Re-join:
The temporary re-join process should only be used to process a once off payment of arrears to an employee who has left - the arrears should relate to the ended position only.
This can be used to pay arrears, incremental credit, holiday pay etc. which are based on the hours worked on the ended contract.
A temporary re-join should not be used for hours under a different position e.g. exam cover. In that scenario a rehire in Core Portal should be completed.
A temporary re-join should be instructed to ESBS on the PDIS Batch file
For a temporary re-joiner the ETTO transaction date should be noted before an employee’s leave date.
For example: If an employee was processed as a leaver and end dated on 26/08/2021, the ETTO date entered for a temp re-join payment should be 25/08/2021 or earlier
For Core to carry out retro calculations on this employee’s Principles Allowance you should have followed the steps below:
1. Notify Pay Ops on the PDIS that you have a temp. re-joiner and include all the details required.
2. Once Pay Ops have confirmed that this employee has been temp. re-joined, you can then make changes to the dormant contract (Add Principles allowance) which core will calculate any arrears owed.
Just to confirm, you can temp re-join an employee once the payment being made is related to their dormant contract - if its new hours worked then you would have to rehire them.
