Dear ETB's,
Re: Change of description on pay code 2032 "Teaching Hours Extension Scheme" to "Personal Rate Allowances NPEN” to facilitate calculation & payment of Post Primary Summer Programme (PPSP) to certain cohorts of staff.
Full-time, pro-rata and non-casual teachers working on the Post Primary Summer Programme (PPSP) are paid their personal hourly rate inclusive of all allowances. Currently ETB's are manually calculating the personal hourly rate due for each teacher and paying it as a non-pensionable money value.
Pay code 2032 "Teaching Hours Extension Scheme" (THES) uses the same personal rate calculation that is used for the PPSP and is also non-pensionable.
ESBS have amended the pay code description on code 2032 to “Personal Rate Allowances NPEN” so ETBs can now use this pay code for the full-time, pro-rata and non-casual teachers for the Post Primary Summer Programme as well as the Teaching Hours Extension Scheme.
**NB** Please note that this pay code can be used for Full-time, Pro-rata and Non-Casual Teachers working on the summer programme who are due their personal rate.
It should not be used for Casual Qualified and Un-qualified teachers working on the Summer Programme.
Expense code **2393 was agreed by the Chart of Accounts group for the Teaching Hours Extension Scheme, so once the proper expense or project code is used for the payment, this would differentiate the THES from the PPSP payments in the payroll and financial systems.
